My name is Tom Vaughan. I would like to give you some background information about my upholstery courses. I created them because no one should have to learn upholstery by "On The Job Training".

You know, drag a chair back and forth every night, wait your turn for the instructor to tell you what to do, give up waiting, do it yourself, then re-do it the way you are told.

On The Job Training. It doesn't work, yet it seems to be the way upholstering is universally taught!

Upholstery 101 is the first in a series of three progressive upholstery courses designed to teach the fundamental techniques used by upholsters.

What will you do? Assemble a frame, stain the legs, learn how to tack, make a clamp, build a foundation, measure and cut material, blind stitch…..

Requirements for Upholstery 101 are a few basic hand tools that you should already have, such as #2 Philips screw driver, shears, tape measure, straight edge, and pencils. Everything else is included!

Cost for Upholstery 101 covers the ottoman frame, specialty tools, all the supplies and sundries, material, and text.
